 The UAE is one of the wealthiest countries in the world and unquestionably one of the most powerful in the region. Besides its magnificent structures and vast deserts, the UAE is also known for its cultural fusion.

The home of the most global cities in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates hosts various cultural and religious festivals that should be experienced while vacationing in this city of sheiks.

1. National Day festival

Both the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi host several events in national monuments to commemorate freedom and unity, making it one of the most important festivals in the UAE.

Every year on December 2nd, the union of six emirates is celebrated as the National Day Festival to commemorate the formation of the United Arab Emirates. On this day, most of the city's national monuments are decorated and open to the public.

2. Dubai International Film Festival

During the Dubai Film Festival, many A-list Hollywood stars, producers, and directors attend screenings at various locations throughout Dubai, attracting film fans from all over the region and Europe.

The festival was founded with the explicit goal of engaging and promoting local filmmakers. In its previous 14 editions, it has screened 500 Arab films, assisting in completing at least 300.

3. Dubai World Cup

The World Series of Horse Racing, also known as the Dubai World Cup for short, is widely regarded as the richest horse race in the world, with a total prize purse of $12 million.

The World Cup night consists of eight dirt races (including a purebred Arabian race) before the final race at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai, which is technically a 10-furlong dirt race for thoroughbred horses.

4. The Dubai Desert Classic

The Dubai Desert Classic is the largest golf tournament in the UAE. It has been a part of the European Tour since 1989 and has spectacular prize money of $3 million.

It is played on the Majlis golfing greens in Dubai, the global city. This annual event is the definitive golfing extravaganza of the UAE because it attracts all the top players on tour.
